General eBook and Digital Material FAQs

eBooks are digital versions of textbooks available via the purchase of a redemption code. Digital Materials are supplementary learning material used to support classroom instruction.

A redemption code is a key that will allow you to use a digital resource. It can unlock a variety of services, including but not limited to, eBooks, supplementary videos, readings, and homework submission forms. The services provided vary by code, and are listed in the description of the product at the time of purchase.

By purchasing eBooks, you can save up to 50% on your book! eBooks are also environmentally friendly, and prevent you from having to carry around heavy textbooks.

Both can be purchased online or in-store. To purchase eBooks or Digital Materials online, use the "Search by Class" tool to see which textbooks are required for your class. If an eBook version of your text is available, it will be shown there.

To purchase eBooks or Digital Materials in-store, take the purchase card located on the shelf to the cashiers.

Restrictions, if any, will be detailed on the purchase card. eBooks and Digital Materials are generally available for a minimum of 180 days, with a maximum of lifetime access.

Use the "Search by Class" tool to see which textbooks are required for your class. If an eBook version of your text is available, it will be shown there.

"Digital Only" in a book title means the book is only provided as an eBook for the selected semester.

Once you've made a purchase, you will receive emailed instructions telling you how to redeem and access your eBook and Digital Materials. Each one is different, so be sure to read the instructions for each item you purchase.

Your redemption code can be found on your receipt after you've made your purhase. If you purchased your eBook or Digital Materials online, the redemption code is located underneath the title of the product, towards the bottom of your emailed receipt. If you purchased your items in-store, the redemption code is located underneath the book ISBN on your receipt.

Follow the link in the instructions provided with your redemption code to redeem your items. If you are having issues following the instructions, please see the troubleshooting section below.

eBooks and Digital Materials are final sale once they have been purchased. Please make sure you are purchasing the correct items by comparing the title, author, edition, and ISBN before making your purchase.

If the publisher has enabled printing, then yes, you can print pages from your eBook.

An eBook is the digital version of a textbook. An access code is a course-specific password used to gain access to course content online. This often includes eBooks, practice exams, videos, and course assignments, but each one varies.

Each eBook and access code is unique and can only be used by one person.

If your instructor has requested additional learning material access for the class, they will be included with the eBook and the physical textbook. Feel free to pick the format that works best for you!

Already purchased an eBook? Look at your receipt. Do the course material redemption instructions say CEI eBooks or VitalSource eBooks?
